In 2017 The Meijer State Games of Michigan will host the 2017 State Games of America which is a national, multi-sport Olympic style event that will host 12,000+ athletes from all over the United States. The State Games of America will replace the Meijer State Games of Michigan Summer Games. Our Hockey tournaments consist of 12U, 14U, 16U, 19U Women and High School Divisions.
Eight geographically based teams in each division will come together at the State Games of America to compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
Each team will play a minimum of four (4) games beginning Thursday evening, with one game Thursday, one game Friday (plus State Games Opening Ceremonies Friday evening), two games Saturday, concluding with the medal games on Sunday. All players are asked to attend the State Games of America Opening Ceremonies at Van Andel Arena on Friday evening, and walk in the Parade of Athletes.
All games are played to a conclusion with a guaranteed winner through an overtime formula. There are NO ties. The top two teams in each division make the semi-finals to determine who will play for the Gold Medal, however, all semi-finalists are guaranteed to play on Sunday for a medal.
All 12U, 14U, 16U, 19U and HS events will play as part of
